With the weight of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine heavy in the thoughts of people across the globe and nations uniting to help Ukrainians, Harvey Traveler is launching a limited-edition HT UA tote bag in collaboration with Boston artist, Blind Fox. 100% of profits are going Humane Society International.
Animals are often the forgotten victims of crisis. Harvey Traveler has always taken a strong stand for animal welfare and charity has been a cornerstone of the company since inception. We couldn’t just sit by and witness domestic animals and zoo animals trapped, terrified and forgotten in Ukraine.
Humane Society International is collaborating with a partner in Ukraine, UAnimals, to assess and prioritize the needs of shelters and clinics actively engaged in relief. HSI in Germany is working with Berliner Tiertafel to provide refugees with pet food and necessary supplies for their animals as well as veterinary care if needed.
HSI is also planning to support animal groups in neighboring countries such as Poland and Romania as they assist refugees arriving from Ukraine with their pets. The groups trying to provide relief are going to need food, carriers, medicines and critical supplies.
The same is true for zoos and wildlife rescue centers in Ukraine, and we’ll do our best to help them meet their needs, too.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Harvey Traveler called upon artist Erica Hagler of Blind Fox to design a graphic for the tote. Hagler, a native of Southern California and now Bostonian, draws a lot of inspiration from natures and animals, so the task was a passion project.
